Discover Elba Island and Sant’Andrea
Elba Island: sea,
nature and unique views

Elba Island is the largest of the Tuscan Archipelago, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea about 10 km off the coast of Tuscany. Renowned for its crystal-clear waters, sandy beaches and rocky coves, the island alternates seascapes with hills, forests and quaint villages, offering ideal experiences for both those seeking relaxation and those who love adventure and the outdoors. The area is easily explored by car, bike or on foot: scenic routes, nature trails and breathtaking sea views make Elba a complete and fascinating destination.

How to get to Elba Island

The most common and easiest way to reach Elba is by ferry from Piombino (Tuscany).
Several shipping companies-including Toremar, Moby Lines, Blu Navy, and Corsica Ferries-offer daily runs to the island’s main ports (Portoferraio, Rio Marina, and Cavo).

The crossing generally takes about 40-60 minutes, depending on the port of arrival and type of vessel. Passenger hydrofoils are also available and reduce the sailing time.

We recommend that you book the ferry in advance, especially in the high season, to guarantee space at the desired time.

Elba Island can also be reached by air thanks to Marina di Campo Airport (Elba – La Pila), located in the southern part of the island. During the tourist season there are direct connections with some Italian and European cities, making Elba an easily accessible destination even for short stays.

St. Andrew’s: where sea and mountains meet

Sant’Andrea is located on the northwest coast of Elba Island and is one of the island’s most picturesque resorts. Known for its distinctive beach with sand and rocks and clear waters, Sant’Andrea combines the charm of the sea with the tranquility of an unspoiled natural setting.

From here, the landscape changes rapidly: mountains, forests, and hills offer numerous opportunities for hiking, trekking, and scenic walks, perfect for those who wish to combine sea and mountains during their vacation.

Reaching Sant’Andrea from Portoferraio

After arriving in Portoferraio, the island’s main town and port, continue by car along the scenic road to Procchio, Marciana Marina and then Marciana.
Continuing along the road in the direction of Sant’Andrea, one reaches the coast and, following local signs, quickly arrives at the coastal resort where Hotel da Giacomino is located.

From Marina di Campo airport, it is possible to reach Sant’Andrea by car or cab in about 30-40 minutes.
